Hitler’s remains - Soviet Smersh compound (9)
Location: Westendstrasse 36, now Klausenerstrasse 23

Today: Klausenerstrasse 23, Smersh has gone.
The remains of Hitler, his wife and the Goebbels family are said to have been burried in the garden of the compound on Westendstrasse 36 on 13th January 1946, where the so called Soviet SMERSH service was stationed. There is discusion about when the grave was cleared by the KGB. Some say it was on the 4th of April in 1970 and others say it was in 1982. Parts of the skull and the jaw of Hitler were brought to Moscow, together with the leg prothese of Goebbels. Other remains were thrown into the river Elbe. The remains of Hitler and Goebbels are in the Russian State Archives underneath the Kremlin. The Russian government has shown the remains to journalists, and there was a documentary made of this event, in which also some clothes of Hitler were shown. The latest news about the remains of Hitler is that the skull wasn’t Hitlers but the skull of an unknown woman.

Hitler’s remains - Schweinebrücke (1)
Location: Schweinebrücke, Magdeburgerstrasse, West of Biederitz

Today: There’s a new bridge, but it is still on the same location.
Some say Hitlers body and the body of Eva Braun were never found. We know that the bodies were burned in the garden of the Reichskanzlei, but what happened to the remains after that, is not clear. Russian sources state that the remains of Hitler, Braun and Goebbels were burried at several locations. On April 5, 1970 the remains were taken to a location near Schönebeck. There KGB-agents must have cremated them again. The ashes were thrown into the nearby river Ehle, from the Schweinebrücke, west of Biederitz.
