Hitler visited Czechoslovakia in 1938 and 1939. In 1938 Germany took over the Sudetenland. In October Hitler crossed the border near Wildenau and went for a tour through the area. He saw towns like Asch, Eger, Franzensbad and Karlsbad (German names). In 1939 Germany took over the rest of Czechoslovakia. In March of that year Hitler travelled to Leipa by train, where he took a car to go to Prag. As you may have noticed, almost every country Hitler has been has regions or cities that used to belong to Germany, before Hitler came to power. Locations like that are always placed on the pages of the country they belong to now, so it’s easier to find them back today. That’s also the case with places in Czechoslovakia, although they may have had German names in the past.
